Watching a School Fight.
4/10/09
I dreamt it was lunch time in high school, though it may have actually been middle school. I sat at a table surrounded by an unlikely group of people. The kids that I hung out with were sitting with the more popular sports-oriented people. I was just sitting and watching. The jocks were giving hell to one of their own.
A dark-haired kid called Pat was getting picked on by his buddies, and he was getting mad. None of us were innocent, and even I smirked when they dumped on Patty. But he was getting mad!
Jay, I don’t know if he said something or not, got up and walked to the kitchen. Patty exploded, leaping to his feet and dashing after him. I got up and hurried after, only to see them fighting behind the front of the kitchen, where the lunch ladies stand.
Jay, if not in real life then certainly in the dream, had studied martial arts, and was defending himself well. As I’d ran over, I heart Pat yelling a complaint that Jay was kicking. I watched Jay coming out a clear victor, forcing Pat to cover his head and then kicking him hard into the lunch counter.
To my surprise, the lunch ladies came to Patty’s defense, with one actually going so far as to kick Jay in the shin! After he beat Pat, he came back out and sat down. The bell had rung, so the area was clearing. I told him that I saw what happened, and that I would testify for him to the principal if he asked me to. He seemed to think that he wouldn’t get in much trouble, or maybe that he deserved it. I woke up, concerned for my friend.
